About us

Welcome to Tropical Bikes – your guide to the Copenhagen jungle!

We are a bike tour and rental company in the center of Copenhagen. Our mission is to make your adventure into the Danish capital as fun as possible. Whether you need some bikes, guidance, or tips and tricks – our friendly team is here to help you.

About us

Tropical is an Attitude, not a Latitude

Originally called CPH Bikes (later Copenhagen Bikes), the founder and CEO Glenn decided it would be a good if not all bike rental companies in Copenhagen had 'Copenhagen' in it. How and why the company's name eventually landed on 'Tropical Bikes' and its mascot become a polar bear, remains a mystery but to Glenn himself.

While Copenhagen might not be known for its exotic animals, lush forests, and suffocating heat, getting around the city, especially in the Summer, might feel like you are in a jungle. There is so much going on - highlights to visit, big sport events to attend, culture festivals to experience, boat trips to undertake. Meanwhile, with every day that gets longer the city fills up with more people.

We at Tropical Bikes want to give you best start into this buzzing urban ecosystem. Take one of our city bikes to adventure on your own, or join one of our public or private tours to get an overview of what this city has to offer. Our staff in our shops are always there to help you out and share their tips and tricks with you.

The sun might not be shining as much here up in the North, but this should not stop you from having a great time in Copenhagen. As we like to say: Tropical is an attitude, not a latitude. Come and see us and find out what CPH is all about!

The shop

Where Your Adventure Begins

Our two shops are located close to the inner city (a couple of minutes away from the central train station) and equipped with everything you need. We value the face-to-face interaction and our staff will do their best to find the right bike for you and send you off with the best recommendations.

To make your experience as smooth as possible, we ask people who like to rent bikes in the morning to go to Åboulevard 3. Since most of our morning tours start in Vester Voldgade 2, we are often busy with checking-in tour guests and have less capacity for handling bike rentals at that location. Starting from 13.00, you are welcome for bike rentals in both locations.
